Organic revenue also developed positively in the fourth quarter, with a year-on-
year rise of . . Daily  shipment volumes made a signi cant contribution to this
develop ment: at . , they outperformed their growth rates of the previous three quar-
ters, exceeding the level prior to the crisis year of .
Revenue growth in the Americas region
Revenue in the Americas region surpassed the prior-year  gure, rising .
to  , million in the reporting year (previous year:  , million).  is includes
positive currency e ects of   million. Adjusted for these e ects, revenue still grew
organically by a considerable . .  e  business in particular substantially exceeded
our expectations with organic revenue growth of . .  is encouraging growth trend
continued in the fourth quarter.
Substantially higher volumes in the Asia Pacifi c region
In , we bene ted from the rapid economic rise in the Asia Paci c region to
signi cantly boost revenue by .  to  , million (previous year:  , million).
Adjusted for positive currency e ects of   million and the acquisition of Shanghai
Quanyi Express Co. Ltd., revenue outperformed the general economic trend in the
region with a rise of . .  e increase resulted from signi cantly higher shipment
volumes across all product lines and higher fuel surcharge revenues.
Business in the  region improved steadily
Business in the  region (Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa) contin-
ued to improve in , with revenue growth of .  to  , million (previous year:
, million). Adjusted for positive currency e ects of   million, organic revenue
growth amounted to . . Daily shipment volumes improved continuously in all prod-
uct lines.
 before non-recurring items signifi cantly higher
e restructuring of our express business is progressing as planned. Revenue
increased signi cantly on the prior year and the cost savings generated were re ected in
earnings.  for the  division rose from – million in  to   million
in . Adjusted for restructuring costs,  increased considerably by   million to
 million (previous year:   million) with a margin of .  (previous year: . ).
 for the fourth quarter of  improved from – million to   million.
Adjusted for restructuring costs,  of  million was generated in the fourth quar-
ter (previous year:   million) with a margin of .  (previous year: . ).
Operating cash  ow, which includes cash out ows for restructuring, improved
signi cantly, rising from – million to   million for full-year  and from
 million to   million in the fourth quarter. Whilst our operating result increased
substantially, restructuring costs were reduced compared with the previous year.
