In  nancial year , the German Federal Ministry of
Finance and Deutsche Post  entered into an agreement that
governs the terms and conditions of the transfer of income
received by Deutsche Post  from the levying of the settlement
payment under the Gesetze über den Abbau der Fehlsubven tio-
nierung im Wohnungs wesen (German acts on the reduction of mis-
directed housing subsidies) relating to housing bene ts granted
by DeutschePost. In  nancial year  Deutsche Post  paid
. million to the federal government for the  nal settlement
for  nancial year  and  . million for  nancial year .
Asagreed, the  nal settlement for  nancial year  will be made
by July .
Deutsche Post  also entered into an agreement with the
Federal Ministry of Finance dated  January  relating to the
transfer of civil servants to German federal authorities. Under this
agreement, civil servants are seconded with the aim of transferring
them initially for six months, and are then transferred permanently
if they successfully complete their probation. Once a permanent
transfer is completed, Deutsche Post  contributes to the cost
incurred by the federal government by paying a  at fee. In ,
this initiative resulted in  permanent transfers (previous year:
eight) and nine secondments with the aim of a permanent transfer
in  (previous year: ).

e federal government holds around   of the shares of
Deutsche Telekom  directly and indirectly (via KfW Banken-
gruppe). Since the federal government, despite its non-controlling
interest, has a secure majority at the Annual General Meeting due to
its average presence there, a dependent relationship exists between
Deutsche Telekom and the federal government. Deutsche Telekom
is therefore a related party of Deutsche Post . In  nan cial year
, Deutsche Post DHL provided goods and services worth
. billion (previous year:  . billion) for Deutsche Telekom
.  ese were mainly transport services for letters and parcels. In
the same period, the Group purchased goods and services (includ-
ing  products and services) worth  . billion (previous year:
. billion) from Deutsche Telekom.

Deutsche Bahn  is wholly owned by the German govern-
ment. Owing to this dependent relationship, Deutsche Bahn  is
a related party to Deutsche Post . Deutsche Post DHL has vari-
ous business relationships with the Deutsche Bahn Group.  ese

Commerzbank  is a related party due to the federal govern-
ments equity interest in the bank of   plus one share. Since
 December , Commerzbank  has been a member of the
consortium of banks that has underwritten the syndicated credit
facility entered into with Deutsche Post . At the same time,
the bilateral credit line in the amount of   million between
