The Instituto Consulado da Mulher is dedicated
to improving the lives of low-income women living
in Brazil. It encourages positive gender relations
and the creation of small business cooperatives
to help women develop their entrepreneurial skills
so they can provide their families with a steady
income. More than 150,000 women have benefited
from the program since 2002.
