CVS Caremark is the largest pharmacy care provider in the United States with integrated
offerings across the entire spectrum of pharmacy care. We are uniquely positioned to
engage plan members in behaviors that improve their health and to lower overall health
care costs for health plans, plan sponsors, and their members. CVS Caremark is a market
leader in mail order pharmacy, retail pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and retail clinics,
and we are a leading provider of Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans. As one of
the country’s largest pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs), we provide access to a network
of approximately 65,000 pharmacies, including more than 7,100 CVS/pharmacy
® stores
that provide unparalleled service and capabilities. Our stores fill nearly one in five retail
prescriptions nationwide, and we have the #1 or #2 market share in 20 of the top 25 U.S.
drugstore markets.
We employ approximately 201,000 associates in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and
Puerto Rico. At year-end, we operated 7,182 retail drugstores, 560 MinuteClinic
® locations,
44 retail specialty pharmacy stores, 18 specialty mail order pharmacies and four mail order
pharmacies, and our CVS.com
® and Caremark.com Web sites.
