(4) Long-term investments under the equity method are not pledged as collateral.
(5) The Company and subsidiaries conducted the test for impairment on the goodwill arising
from the acquisition of long-term investment-Ability Enterprise Co., Ltd. under the
purchase method, which resulted in the impairment loss of $240,000 thousand for the
year ended December 31, 2008.
