Challenge and Opportunity
Established in 1920, Mazda Motor Corporation is an automobile manufacturer headquartered in Hiroshima Prefecture
in western Japan. Since its establishment, Mazda has worked to provide products and services that customers will
enjoy, including vehicles that utilize the rotary engine. Despite the current difcult operating environment, Mazda’s
product strength has allowed us to increase or maintain our market share in major markets.
The automobile industry overall is currently facing major challenges, but this situation also represents signicant
opportunities for Mazda to shine over the next 5 to 10 years. We will continue raising Mazda’s global presence by accel-
erating restructuring based on Monotsukuri Innovation, while at the same time providing Zoom-Zoom cars that are also
environmentally friendly.
