2013 AARP ANNUAL REPORT — 4
In 2013, your all-volunteer AARP Board
of Directors continued to ensure the
financial strength of AARP, while direct-
ing necessary resources to serve you and
people 50-plus everywhere.
Multicultural engagement remained a
strong focus, in part through even greater
outreach to Hispanics/Latinos and Asian
American/Pacific Islanders. Building on
previous Boards’ efforts, we strengthened
AARP’s state and local presence. As a for-
mer human resources professional, I was
pleased to see the blossoming of many
efforts to promote the talents and skills
of experienced workers.
Together with management, we’re pre-
paring to meet the challenges and oppor-
tunities that lie ahead.
AARP is evolving. We know that
innovative thinking and careful attention
to members’ wants and needs will keep
AARP strong, relevant and well-equipped
to serve America’s diverse 50-plus popu-
lation.
