Just as AARP was there more than 50 years
ago to help people adapt to a new life stage
called “retirement,” today’s AARP helps
people adapt to a new life stage: an age
of possibilities.
In May, a major new initiative called
Life Reimagined signaled a new AARP,
focused on the resources individuals need
to turn their possibilities into realities.
Created in collaboration with experts in
personal development, aging and social
changes., Life Reimagined created a
dynamic suite of resources, tools, coach-
ing services and ways to connect with
like-minded people.
Life Reimagined for Work leveraged
the LinkedIn social media platform to
connect experienced workers with job
opportunities and an online network of
others seeking jobs, career advancement
or networking. As one AARP staff exec-
utive noted, “Connectedness is the new
currency.
A first-of-its-kind diagnostic tool
helped people identify where they are
in their journey to achieve their goals
and dreams, then make decisions to help
