Developing a culture of tech literacy
e are helpin to fund the arefoot oputin proect to help priar
school teachers et to rips with the new schools coputin curriculu.
volunteers are deliverin teacher trainin worshops at scale. ince
arch 01 the proect has provided coputer science resources and
trainin to over 00 priar school teachers. his enables teachers
with little previous coputer science nowlede to interate aloriths
abstraction and data structures into their lessons with children fro
the ae of five. ro the 01 acadeic ear we will develop a ore
coprehensive schools prorae across the UK to help support our
abition to help children b 00.
Creating a connected society
e are buildin on our eistin abition to deliver access to fibre-based
products and services to nine out of ten people in the UK. ur new
00 abition is elpin 10 people overcoe social disadvantae
throuh the benefits our products and services can brin. his is a clear
opportunit to show how our products and services can deliver social
benefit and ae a real dierence to people all over the world. e can
show how counications technolo and the services we deliver
can positivel address e social issues such as povert social obilit
anaein population and disabilit.
his ear we published the ocial eturn on nvestent analsis of our
UK diital inclusion. his is helpin private public and voluntar sector
oranisations to easure the ipact of bein online. e have focused on
aterial outcoes to individuals and the UK econo. or the first
tie this has enabled us to easure the social ipact of our diital sills
proraes and feed this insiht bac into the product developent
ccle. Usin this ethodolo we have calculated that the benefit of
ettin online is worth 10 per person per ear risin to
foran advanced user.
