e are responsible for providin services over the local loop or local

of the copper and fibre connections between our echanes and
hoes andbusinesses.
e have now passed ore than  preises with our superfast
fibre broadband networ. hat is ore than three-uarters of the UK.
e achieved 1. fibre broadband net connections in the ear. his
eans that around . hoes and businesses in the UK are now
connected  19of those passed.
n anuar 01 we set out our ultrafast broadband vision for the
UK. Usin .fast technolo we epect to oer initial speeds of a few
hundred eabits per second to illions of hoes and businesses b
00. s further industr standards are secured we epect speeds to
increase to up to 00bps to ost of the UK within a decade.
he nuber of phsical lines increased b 1000 in the ear. henuber
of copper and fibre broadband users on our networ rose b 1000.
e achieved the iniu service levels set b fco eceedin all

custoer service. o help us do this we hired ore than 00 new

evenue declined 1 with reulator price reductions osettin
the ipact of fibre revenue rowth. ur operatin costs were 
lower which eant  was at. ost eciencies oset increased
volues pa increases and the additional enineerin resource we
