Audi Symphony debuts

The newly-crowned
German Touring Car Mas-
ters (DTM) champion,
Mattias Ekström, paid a
visit to the set of one of
Germany’s most popular
TV programs. In the No-
vember edition of “Wet-
ten, dass..?” the Swede
drove a new Audi A4 onto
the stage. The sporty
sedan will be entered
into a raffle at the end of
March 2008, in support of
the German sports foun-
dation Stiftung Deutsche
Sporthilfe. During the pre-
vious season, an Audi R8
sportscar was donated
as a lottery prize in aid of
the youth sports project
“Bewegungscamps für
Jugendliche,” an initiative
launched by the German
Athletics Association.

In June 2007, against the monumental backdrop of
the Grand Palais in Paris, conceptual artists Bauhouse
from Berlin presented the premiere of the “Audi Sym-
phony.” The performers integrated sequences from
Audi image films and commercials into their 16-minute
work and set it to classical music.
The debut performance, featuring musicians from the
Berliner Staatskapelle orchestra, Bauhouse demon-
strated the connection between the classics and elec-
tronics, with an interplay of sounds and images.
The multimedia performance was staged during the
Audi talents awards, commendations presented by
Audi to young talents in the fields of contemporary
art, industrial design, sports innovation and music.

Last summer, the island
of Mainau was trans-
formed into a stage for
art and culture. Under
the slogan “The island of
Mainau: Szczesny 2007 –
The dream of an earthly
paradise,” artist Stefan
Szczesny transformed
this island of flowers into
a work of art. Under the
patronage of AUDI AG,
Szczesny adorned the
island with sculptures,
paintings, ceramics and
mosaics and executed an
oversized painting on a
75-meter zeppelin in a
hangar at Friedrichshafen
Airport. The airship with
its colorful motif of a
woman could be seen
high above Lake Con-
stance until the end of
August 2007.
