Gas Distribution
We own and operate gas distribution systems in the UK and the northeastern US.
With the acquisition of KeySpan, our Gas Distribution business is now roughly
equally split between the UK and the US. We have been sharing best practice ideas
between countries and we have changed our operating structure to reflect this.
In the UK we have entered a new price control period which will bring considerable
challenge and opportunity over the next five years, as we look to become more
efficient and consistent with our processes.
Once again we have achieved our objective to replace iron main with plastic in the
UK this year, totalling 1,850 kilometres, improving the safety and reliability of our
networks.
