UBISOFTANNUAL REPORT 2009
2) Identifying short-, medium- and long-term opportunities to reduce its environmental impact and manage resources
sustainably (excluding greenhouse gas emissions)
• For recycling, in particular:
- Life-cycle management and recycling of computer equipment
- Reducing consumption and recycling consumables (especially paper)
- Processing and recycling unmarketable products
• Processing waste
- For operations, in particular:
• Developing a responsible and sustainable procurement policy
• Involving suppliers in a responsible, environmentally friendly approach
3) Raising awareness of environmental issues among staff and the general public
Identifying sound environmental practices suited to our sector of activity, and applying them at a Group level.
Encouraging internal initiatives to contribute to the protection of the environment, and making these practices an example for
the Group’s other subsidiaries.
Identifying key changes in employees' behaviour and disseminating these new practices through the use of innovative
communication tools.
Using the products that it markets to foster general public awareness of environmental issues.
Subsidiaries also answer an annual internal survey to take stock of environmental policies, programmes and indicators.
In accordance with the regulations of each country, as well as the will and involvement of their staff, subsidiaries also conduct
their own actions.
For example, Montreal has formalised its commitment in an environmental policy adopted by the studio management. This follows
an environmental impact assessment in the rst half of 2008 and establishes short- and medium-term action plans to minimise
the subsidiary’s impact on the environment.
