1.1.4.1.3.1 Work environment and working conditions
Working time:
Full-time work is 35 hours per week. This working time can be spread over ve days, or there is the option to work longer with
additional time off, depending on the constraints of the activity and the choices expressed by employees.
2.29% of employees work part-time.
Overtime worked during the year was in compliance with legal and contractual provisions.
The rate of absence in 2008-09 was 1.10%(1) and broke down as follows:
• 78.83% due to illness
• 18.98% for exceptional leave(2)
• 2.19% due to accidents at work
Outsourcing:
From time to time, Ubisoft employs individuals under freelance contracts (particularly for artistic services) and temporary
contracts.
Peripheral activities at certain sites (security, cleaning, computer maintenance) are subcontracted to outside companies.
Health and safety:
In France(3) , Ubisoft complies with legal rules on health and safety.
Recreation:
The recreation department offers discount prices on show tickets (2,070 tickets subsidized 40% by Ubisoft in 2008-09), reductions
on certain cultural and gym memberships, leisurely weekends and various social events.
Excluding the salaries of teams coordinating leisure activities, its annual budget is 535 thousand.
A media lending library provides staff with video games and consoles. A sports hall reserved for employees offers tness activities
and group lessons.
1.1.4.1.3.2 Skill development
Ubisoft has integrated France’s DIF (Personal Training Right) into its professional training policy.
In 2008-09, the budget allocated to training (excluding salaries) amounted to 931 thousand.
Ubisoft also took on interns and trainees during the 2008-09 nancial year. Internships often represent pathways to hiring.
In France, for example, 25% of the junior employees recruited this year had previously completed an internship at Ubisoft.
1.1.4.1.3.3 Employment and anti-discrimination
Information on employment and anti-discrimination in France is as follows:
• 69.6% of Ubisoft’s workforce in France are executives.
• Women account for 30% of total employees and 76.92% of them are executives.
• With regard to compensation, professional equality between men and women is respected.
• 74.86% of employees are employed on permanent open-ended contracts.
• Staff in France have representation within Ubisoft.
During the 2008-09 scal year, Ubisoft employed two disabled workers and contributed 87 thousand to funds for the employment
of disabled persons.

(2) In particular, this includes time off for a birth, marriage, move, etc.
(3) As is the case in all Ubisoft subsidiaries.
