Highlights
While sales of hard disk camcorders are
robust worldwide, sales of displays and
audio products are weak, and overall
segment sales fell due to the adverse
impact from paring down the lineup of
DVD recorders and a contraction in the
CRT TV market.

• Recordable media
• Prerecorded audio and visual
software, including CDs, DVDs,
and videotapes
In recording media, sales of digital video
camera (DVC) tapes contracted,
and sales were weak due to a decline in
selling prices for DVD-RWs and other
products.
• In the music entertainment software busi-
ness, sales were brisk in the first half but
declined in the second half due to a lack
of hit releases.
