Thwarts Counterfeiters in
Southern China
Columbia Sportswear Company
recently joined forces with southern
Chinese authorities to raid a factory
producing counterfeit Columbia
Sportswear jackets. The raid of
Lianxing Garments Company located
in Zhongshan City, China is part of
an aggressive campaign to stamp out
counterfeiters and protect Columbia’s
unique brands. The raid resulted
in the seizure of more than 2,000
counterfeit pullovers and jackets.

Columbia Sportswear Brings Hope to
the Slopes
International outdoor apparel and footwear leader
Columbia Sportswear Company brings some hope
to the slopes as the presenting sponsor of the 2004
Jimmie Heuga Snow Express for MS International
Final. As the presenting sponsor for the 11th
consecutive year, Columbia is outfitting the event
staff and VIPs and providing gifts for the event
champions. The Heuga Center was founded in 1984
by former Olympic ski racer, Jimmie Heuga to help
improve the lives of people with multiple sclerosis
through educational and wellness programs.

Signs License for
Fishing Waders and
Ankle-Fit-Boots
Columbia Sportswear Company
announced today that it has signed
a license agreement with C.O.
Lynch Enterprises for the design,
manufacture and marketing of a
new line of hunting and fishing
waders as well as ankle-fit rubber
boots. The collection will debut in
select specialty and sporting goods
retailers in fall 2005.

Columbia Sportswear Extends
Worldwide Distribution Strategy to
Southern Africa and the Philippines
Capitalizing on increased business prospects and
opportunities for worldwide brand expansion,
Columbia Sportswear Company today announced
distribution agreements with South Africa-based
Foschini Retail Group and Philippines-based
Kenrich International Distributor Corporation
(KIDC). These new relationships further
Columbia’s strategy to distribute apparel and
footwear to countries in which its products have
never been sold, and will commence with fall
2004 product lines.

Columbia Sportswear Signs
License Agreement for
Insulated Products
Columbia Sportswear Company
announced today that is has signed
a license agreement with California
Innovations, Inc. for the design,
manufacture and marketing of a line of
insulated products, including coolers,
lunch packs, thermal mugs and bottles.
Baby and diaper bags, designed for the
active family, will also be featured. This
new insulated product line will debut in
spring 2005 throughout North America.

Columbia Sportswear Signs
License Agreement for
Outdoor Accessories
Columbia Sportswear Company
announced today that is has signed a
license agreement with Coast Cutlery for
the design, manufacture and marketing of
a line of outdoor accessories, including
knives, multi-tools, compasses and LED
lights. Hiking sticks, binoculars, field
glasses and camping lanterns and lights
will also be made available for the active,
outdoors enthusiast. This new line of
outdoor accessories will debut in spring
2005 throughout North America.
