DIVIDENDS
The amount and timing of dividends payable on our common stock are within the sole discretion of our
Board of Directors. In 2004, we paid a special, non-recurring dividend of $2.00 per share of common stock, and
instituted a regular annual dividend of $1.00 per share of common stock to be paid quarterly. Cash dividends paid
to shareholders were approximately $323.7 million, $338.4 million and $832.8 million in 2006, 2005 and 2004,
respectively. There are no material restrictions on our ability to pay dividends. The table below sets forth
dividends paid during the periods indicated.
