Times are changing. We carefully
ex amine how people like to shop so we can make their ex perience more pleasant
and convenient. For ex ample, we are introducing more Þtting rooms and training
staff speciÞcally to sell jewellery or advise on interior decoration. Where possible,
we have extended access for disabled shoppers. A t the same time, fresh
approaches to display enable us to present products more attractively and to link
complementary merchandise from different areas.
RESPONDING TO THE WAY PEOPLE LIKE TO SHOP
Development is well under way of Marks &
Spences largest ever store, a state-of-the-
art 200,000 sq ft, four-ßoor store in
Manchester city centre set to open in time
for the millennium. Featuring a full range of
our new
in-store customer ser vices and facilities Ð not
to mention a comprehensive selection of
merchandise Ð we expect the new store to
have a strong impact on our business in the
nor th-west of England.
