16 AARP 2012 YEAR IN REVIEW
The marketplace is online. To
help workers navigate this new
reality, AARP launched Work
Reimagined, a social network-
based jobs program for workers
with more than 20 years of
experience. Talk about powerful
connections: talented people
gained career advice and links to
thousands of job opportunities
posted by more than 150
employers.
Encore Entrepreneurs: With 63
percent of Americans planning
to work during retirement, self-
employment among older adults
is increasing. That’s why AARP
teamed up with the U.S. Small
Business Administration to help
people 50+ access information to
help them plan, start and grow a
new business or nonprofit.
LIFE REIMAGINED
“What’s next in my life?” is often
asked by people exploring
the age of possibilities. AARP
prepared to become their ally in
this adventure through a new idea
called Life Reimagined. Participants
at Life@50+ in September got
a sneak preview, using iPads to
explore their personal callings and
hearing inspiring conversations by
celebrities and life coaches. Life
Reimagined will launch officially in
2013.
THE SUMMITT OF COURAGE
During her 38 years of coaching
the Tennessee Lady Volunteers, Pat
Experience Corps
mentors helped
thousands of
