AFLAC U.S.
TECHNOLOGY HELPS AFLAC TO DELIVER EFFICIENCY, PRODUCTIVITY, AND THE AFLAC PROMISE
We are always looking for ways to leverage technology to help our sales force succeed and be more productive.
In 2012 we took notable steps to improve our online user experience for our customers. We also continued to
enhance tools needed for our sales associates and brokers to effectively and efficiently manage their businesses.
We added several mobile applications that allow our sales force to efficiently handle business while being productive
in the field. We also enhanced our LaunchPad tablet business productivity application by adding a recruitment
compensation calculator as well as new enrollment tools. Additionally, we created local websites for our field force
to ensure their local presence is identified by search engines. This allows our agents to connect with potential
consumers in their local area directly. We have published more than 2,500 sites for our coordinators and nearly
4,000 city-specific sites designed to capture local searches, giving us the ability to increase leads in specific
geographies. This feature will allow our sales force to engage in additional local digital marketing activities that
will help to drive their business.
Through our Marketing and Information Technology Divisions’ synchronized efforts, we continue to develop tools
that positively impact our sales and marketing efforts and allow us to improve our products, expand our distribution,
and allocate more resources to marketing.

The United States continues to provide a vast and accessible market for our products. We remain focused on
maintaining our position as the leading provider of voluntary insurance in the market. We are confident in our brand
and the fundamental needs of our products. We stand out from our competitors by upholding our promise to be
there for our policyholders and insureds when they need us most by paying claims fairly and promptly.
