Throughout his 18 years with
Aflac, Alfred Rietkerk, state sales
coordinator, has succeeded by leading
through example and instilling a
culture of camaraderie, caring, and
strong work ethic within his team.
Alfred describes his philosophy by
saying, “My number one priority is to
build trust throughout my sales team
and with our policyholders. That
means when we say we are going to
do something, we follow through
and deliver on our promise. Every
endeavor we undertake is in the
spirit of making the right decisions
for those who depend upon us.
Alfred’s passionate people-first
philosophy of helping others excel
has led not only to success for him
and for his teams, but for Aflac as
a whole because he has cultivated
many other Aflac leaders in other state
operations. “This business is all about
our people and how we take care
of our people. We have no business
without our people. Aflac employees,
associates and policyholders are the
most important assets we have, if we
are building the business correctly –
and we strive to do that every day.”
Having held various sales management
positions with Aflac in California,
Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico,
Alfred’s ability to speak Spanish has
also helped tremendously, not only
in recruiting bilingual associates but
also with reaching Spanish-speaking
policyholders.
