The Ricoh Group’s environmental conservation efforts
have progressed through three stages: passive,
pro active and now, responsible. During the rst
stage, we coped with social pressures by adhering
to environmental laws and regulations. During the
proactive stage, while continuing to fulll external
(legal and social) requirements, we voluntarily set our
own goals based on our sense of mission as a global
corporate citizen. In 1998, we pioneered the concept
