are the main facets that shine thanks to the special polish given
byPorsche,” Achleitner says, laughing. “As with a real diamond,
there are countless other facets, and all of these together result
in the special radiance emanated by the 911.”
A radiance that has always spurred the company forwards. The
Porsche 911 is synonymous with the brand – and it is a highly
successful product. As such, it not only makes a considerable
contribution towards the strong company profit situation, but also
guides the company’s path into the future with its great number
ofnew technologies. The other Porsche models benefit from
these, like the new generations of 718 Boxter and 718 Cayman,
which are also on the road with turbo-charge engines. Since
theend of last year, Achleitner has been responsible for this
model range as well, thus putting him in charge of all two-door
sports cars from Porsche.
He has the know-how about these vehicles from Porsche, and his
colleagues the know-how about the four-door models and the
production version of the MissionE electric sports cars: the com-
plete know-how for the best sports car in every segment is in
place. Whether combustion engine, plug-in hybrid engine or purely
electrical. “Some people are in awe of our consistent degree of
perfection,” says August Achleitner with healthy self-confidence.
“Not us. Porsche is Porsche after all.”
