Twelve-year-old
Natasha Forrler
has a room filled
with stuffed
animals. Since joining
the Kids Club with little
brother Julian, she’s
added Navy Federal’s
Sammie the Sea Otter®
to her collection of
more than 100 stuffed
horses, unicorns and
whatever else strikes
her fancy.
Natasha’s savings—
largely funded from
gifts right now—are
earmarked for big
purchases, perhaps an
MP3 player or guitar
in the short-term, or a
car or Clydesdale horse
when she’s older. She
aspires to be an actor
and teases her mother,
Heather, about a time
“when I’ll be rich and
famous.” For now, she
collects toy horses,
reads to her little
brother, writes stories
and paints at her home
in Bainbridge, WA,
and is on a cheer team.
Mom Heather started
her own Navy Federal
savings as a teen when
her father, a retired
Commander, signed
her up for membership.
Natasha’s dad joined
when the couple got
a mortgage. Being a
member for over 20
years, Heather said, “It
was just natural to start
accounts for Natasha
and her baby brother
so they could earn
interest on their sav-
ings.” She’s loyal to
Navy Federal and said,
“I wonder how other
financial institutions
can claim they’re offer-
ing something special
when it’s something I
already have with Navy
Federal. I knew I
would always have an
account with the credit
union, and I know
what to expect from
them.”
