achievements:
>Completed best year of net earnings gains
since 1992, and best year of net earnings as
a percent of sales in the Companys history.
>Opened 160 Home Depot stores and 7
EXPO Design Center stores.
>Opened first two Villager’s Hardware test stores.
>Acquired Georgia Lighting and Apex
Supply Company.
>Launched an environmentally responsible
wood purchasing policy.
>Introduced enhanced Home Depot Web site.
>Became a member of the Dow Jones
Industrial Average.
>Declared a 3-for-2 stock split.
>Celebrated Home Depot’s 20th anniversary.
>Named one of the Top Ten Most Admired
Companies by Fortune magazine, which also
ranked The Home Depot as America’s Most
Admired Specialty Retailer for the seventh
consecutive year.
