the Group-wide environmental supplier requirements that were
established in . e Groups environmental management sys-
tem, which centralises the procurement process, will make it easier
to set requirements on suppliers.
Saab and the green market
Environmental aspects are increasingly part of the product develop-
ment process at Saab. Several current and potential customer-coun-
tries face major challenges in terms of energy and the environment
and must meet stringent requirements to quickly adapt.
Energy eciency is a key issue with regard to climate change and
costs. Regardless of the energy source used as fuel or for energy pro-
duction, it will become increasing important to use it as eciently as
possible. As part of its business development, Saab continuously
identies how its expertise, products and systems can be used to
improve energy eciency in the production, distribution and con-
sumption of energy and fuels. We can also oer a growing number of
products and solutions that reduce CO emissions, ranging from
solutions that improve eciency in transport ows at sea and on
land to our work in the EU’s previously mentioned Clean Sky pro-
gramme to reduce aircra emissions.
As Saab increasingly helps to protect various ows in society and
improve their eciency, including energy and supply chains, we are
also doing more to reduce environmental impacts. Together with
our partners, we oer technologies and support that contribute to
sustainable cities. Listed below are several areas where our solutions
reduce environmental impacts or improve decision guidance for
important environmental issues:
Intelligent transport solutions for air, land and sea
Solutions that improving logistical and maintenance eciency
Communication and decision-making systems
Surveillance systems for land and sea
Data processing and visualisation for better decision guidance
Waste and energy
