TechnologyAchievementAwardfromAirTransportWorldMagazineinJanuary2005forchampioningthe
developmentofAutomaticDependentSurveillance‐Broadcast(ADS‐B)technology,anenablingtechnologyforair
trafficmanagement.
Garmin’saviationproductsaresoldinbothnewaircraftandtheretrofitmarketwhereexistingaircraftare
fittedwiththelatestelectronicsfromGarmin’sbroadproductline.
GarminhasalsoexpandeditsrangeofavionicsofferingstoleadingGeneralAviationaircraftmanufacturers
suchastheCessnaAircraftCompany,CirrusAircraft,HawkerBeechcraftCorporation,DiamondAircraftIndustries,
MooneyAirplaneCompany,PiperAircraft,Inc.,DAHER‐SOCATAandQuestAircraftthroughtheinstallationofthe
G1000integratedflightdeckasoriginalequipmentaboardnewaircraft.Thissystemintegratesattitude,heading,
airdata,navigation,communication,enginemonitoring,andotheraircraftfunctionsintoasinglecohesivesystem
whichinterfaceswiththeflightcrewusingasetoflarge,brightTFTdisplays.TheG1000alsoincludesan
integratedautopilot–theGFC700.GarminalsohasexpandeditsG1000certificationstothebusinessjetsegment,
suchasCessna’sCitationMustangjetandEmbraer’sPhenom100andPhenom300.Garminalsoannouncedits
nextgenerationintegratedflightdecksystem,theG3000,attheNationalBusinessAircraftAssociation(NBAA)
tradeshowinOctober2009.BothHondaAircraftCorporationandPiperAircraftsimultaneouslyannouncedthat
theG3000hasbeenselectedfortheHondaJetandPiperJetrespectively.

America.TheGPSMAP495offersmanyofthesamefeaturesastheGPSMAP496ata
lowerpricepoint.
GPSMAP695/696TheGPSMAP696expandsonthefeaturesoftheGPSMAP496byaddinga7inchscreen,
preloadeddetailedelectroniccharts,preloadedairwaysandIFRmapmode.The
GPSMAP696hasareceiverforXMradioandXMWXSatelliteWeather(U.S.customers
only)thatgivesnextgenerationradar(NEXRAD),aviationroutineweatherreports
