Featuring Garmin G Motion™technology,theseultra-fastchartplotters
come standard with high-speed graphical processors that deliver
nearlytwotimesthemap-drawingagilityandperformanceoftheir
predecessors. High-tech meets high-touch with the 7000 series,
offered in both 12- and 15-inch touchscreen displays. The 6000
seriesoffersatraditionalsoftkeyinterfacewithdisplayssizedfrom
8 to 12 inches. With NMEA 2000 and Garmin Marine Network
“plug-and-play” connectivity, it’s easy to access onboard sensors
andcontrolawhole array of network assets from any compatible
plotter on the boat.
Garmin announced enhancements to its popular line of portrait
plotters—theGPSMAP4x1,5x1and5x6—addinghigh-sensitivity
and faster processors to affordable marine navigation. Combining
performance and value, these compact chartplotters feature our
proven, easy-to-use interface and boast a new high-speed digital
designthatincreasesmapdrawingandpanningspeeds.Withtheir
small footprint, these units are ideal for single station boats or as a
backup unit on larger vessels.
Also introduced in 2009 were the next generation of open array
digitalradarscanners—theGMR™1204/1206xHDandtheGMR
604/606 xHD. These 4- and 6-foot scanners set the standard for
high-denition performance and target detection, and transmit
more power than ever before. Whether it’s a yachtsman entering
the harbor on a foggy evening or a sport fisherman looking for birds
