Dividends paid are fully franked at a tax rate of 30%.
Dividends per share in respect of each fiscal year are detailed
below:
(a) As the final dividend for fiscal 2012 was not determined or
publicly recommended by the Board as at 30 June 2012, no
provision for dividend has been raised in the statement of financial
position. The final dividend has been reported as an event
subsequent to reporting date. Refer to note 31 for further details.
(b) In relation to our exempting account, there are statutory
restrictions placed on the distribution of credits from this account.
As a result of these restrictions, it is unlikely that we will be able to
distribute our exempting credits.
(c) Franking credits that will arise from the payment of income tax
are expressed at the 30% tax rate on a tax paid basis.
We believe that our current balance in the franking account,
combined with the franking credits that will arise on tax instalments
expected to be paid, adjusted for franking debits arising from
income tax refunds, will be sufficient to fully frank our final 2012
dividend.
