50 SAAB ANNUAL REPORT 2013
ADMINISTRATION REPORT > BUSINESS AREAS
COMBITECH
Services and solutions
Combitech is active in the aviation, defence, telecom and other
industries as well as the public sector.
Combitech offers services in systems development, systems
integration, information security, systems security, communi-
cations, mechanics, technical product information and logistics.
Driving forces
Many customers are cutting back on the number of consultants they
use, preferring to work with larger, more comprehensive consulting
rms. The market for turnkey projects is therefore expected to in-
crease. There is intense pressure on the market for technical consult-
ants, especially in terms of hourly-billed assignments.
Sales
Operations within the aircra and engineering industries and the
public sector showed the highest sales growth during 2013. e
telecommunication segment has shown a lower demand during
the year. Overall, we see a somewhat cautious industrial economy.
Sales attributable to customers outside the Saab Group in-
creased in 2013 compared to 2012. e share of sales attributable
to the Saab Group amounted to 46 per cent (42).
Markets outside Sweden accounted for 5percent (3) of sales.
Operating income
e operating income increased during 2013, due to higher sales
compared to 2012. e operating margin was on par with 2012.
Cash flow
e operating cash ow was at a higher level in 2013 compared to
2012 mainly due to acquisitions made during 2012.
Employees
e number of FTE’s increased slightly as Combitech saw a conti-
nued high demand in several market segments.
