SAAB ANNUAL REPORT 2013 23
Saab’s Remote Tower system uses a
number of video, audio and other sen-
sors to provide a continual, compre-
hensive view from the air trafc control
tower. The data from cameras and other
sensors is fed to a ight control centre,
where air trafc controllers have com-
plete control of all sensors and all light-
ing at the airport, along with integrated
ight data, electronic ight strips and
other air trafc control tools.
Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport is Europe’s fourth largest.
Saab Sensis Multilateration improves safety, efciency
and capacity at the airport by giving air trafc controllers
an accurate picture of the take-off and landing runways,
taxiways and gate areas in all weather conditions. Multilat-
eration is a system that tracks the movements of aircraft
and vehicles using their transponder signals.
