Its demonstrably connecting expertise and execution
OUR DISTRIBUTION CENTER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DELIVERED UNDER EXTRAORDINARY CIRCUMSTANCES.
For the first time in U.S. aviation history, all air carrier services were suspended immediately after the September 11 terrorist
attacks. Because of the geographic diversity and strategic location of Ingram Micro's distribution centers, and our existing
transportation system infrastructure, we were able to implement contingency plans that allowed us to get products to customers
on time via ground transport. “Our distribution network design, in conjunction with our robust transportation management
systems and inventory position, allowed us to deliver most shipments in the continental United States within 24 to 48 hours,“
says Jeff Johnson, vice president, logistics and transportation. “Among these were emergency shipments of critically needed
equipment to hospitals, relief organizations and companies that were directly affected by the attacks in New York City and
Washington, D.C. It was gratifying to be able to support our customers and our country in this time of crisis.
What happens when a team of highly experienced, insightful
and dedicated professionals put their resources to work
to solve problems and create innovative solutions for
customers? It becomes the largest global wholesale provider
of technology products and supply chain management services
—and continues to sustain that leadership position.

our logistics infrastructure kept critical shipments going during one of the darkest moments in our country’s history.
