Our intellectual property strategy is unified in a
triune with Toshibas strategies for growth and R&D,
and this is the starting point for IP management
that seeks to maximize the value of our intellectual
property.
We advance innovation and creation
through patent applications that support our
overall business plan. We are also increasing
overseas applications, including those in emerging
markets.
In using and managing IP, our business
model is based on differentiation and licensing,
and targeted on making a larger contribution to
increasing operating profit.
Toshiba’s breakthroughs win high praise. The
Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation
recognized our contributions to technology and
industry at the 2010 National Commendation for
Invention with two major awards.
