Dreamers
When brothers Mike and Chris Terry were accepted at the Savannah College of Art
and Design, they weren’t at all sure how they were going to pay for it. Although they
both received scholarships from the Georgia school, there was still a gap. Their father
suggested Sallie Mae and they applied for Sallie Mae’s private loan, the Signature
Education Loan®. “We didn’t know if we would qualify,” says Mike. “But Sallie Mae
worked with us. The people were really helpful.” Mike is studying computer animation
and hopes to work at a major studio one day. Chris, the older of the two, is studying
film and plans to become a director. Both freshmen, they agree they wouldn’t be there
if it weren’t for Sallie Mae. Says Chris: “If you believe in something hard enough, it’ll
happen. You just have to stay focused on what you want.” That’s what Sallie Mae’s all
about: helping people realize their dreams.
