1. There are, and
have always been,
only sixteen men
to watch over the
distillation and aging
of the malt whisky.
This golden rule
preserves the
craftsmanship that
makes Glenmorangie
famous.
2. The copper stills
of Glenmorangie,
the tallest in Scotland,
standing over
5 meters high:
this insures that
the vapors released
gain in purity and
subtlety.

LVMH annual report 2004
The Sixteen Men of Tain, as they are affec-
tionately known, are the custodians of a
unique expertise and traditions more than a
century old, carefully preserved over time,
in the heart of the Glenmorangie Distillery.
These craftsmen guarantee the quality that
makes the famous malt whisky they produ-
ce an exceptional product, the market lea-
der in the United Kingdom, and one of the
whisky brands most appreciated by kno-
wledgeable whisky lovers worldwide.
26 DIFFERENT FRAGRANCES
Is it due to the unusual size of the swan
necks of the Tain copper stills?
To t h e hard water drawn from the distillery-
owned Tarlogie spring, which takes
almost 10 0 years to travel through
limestone before rising to the surface?
To t h e wo o d en casks made from 100 year-
old Missouri oak, which after filling
slumber peacefully in the earthen-floored
warehouses? Invited to analyze the
bouquet of Glenmorangie 10 Years Old,
the flagship of the brand, professionals
from a major perfume house detected
no fewer than 26 different fragrances,
including almond, cinnamon, vanilla,
honey, citrus, and wild mint.
Subtle and magnificently balanced,
the Glenmorangie taste can also be found
in Glenmorangie 15 Years OId, which
is matured for a period in new oak, giving
it an intriguing spiciness, and in
Glenmorangie 18 Years Old, an expression
that stands out with its fuller flavour
and its rich raisins and walnuts finish.
Vintages and limited editions, very much
prized by whisky lovers, are also part
of the range. Glenmorangie can also take
pride in its Wood Finish Range, the result
of a further period of maturation in casks
that previously held Port, Sherry, Madeira
or Burgundy.
In 2004, a 30 Years Old whisky appeared.
The Sixteen Men of Tain know that time
is their ally in their quest for quality.
Glenmorangie can be translated as ”Valley
of Tranquility” in Gaelic, the ancient
language of the Scots.

Belvedere and Chopin ultra premium vodkas are at the high-end
of a growth American market, and complete the Moët Hennessy
line of spirits.
With the launch of flavored vodkas prepared using a natural
maceration process, Belvedere has proven its capacity for inno-
vation. Appreciated by connoisseurs, these vodkas are availa-
ble only at prestigious points of sale, particularly in “trendy”
American restaurants.
