NYSE CEO Certification
Duke Energy Corporation has filed the
certification of its chief executive officer
and chief financial officer pursuant to
Section 302 of the Sarbanes-Oxley
Act of 2002 as exhibits to its Annual
Report on Form 10-K for the year ended
December 31, 2006. In November 2006,
Duke Energy Corporation’s chief executive
officer, as required by Section 303A.12(a)
of the NYSE Listed Company Manual,
certified to the NYSE that he was not
