Technology Solution
More and more people are using smartphones and tablets to consume content via touch panel operations. With these mobile
devices becoming an integral part of people’s daily lives, they will soon be used for capturing, shaping and sharing content or
ideas. The age of digital stationery is coming our way. In addition to offering stylus products in this segment, we also launched
the Bamboo Spark in autumn 2015, which digitizes handwritten memos, allowing them to be edited or shared with high usability.
We also began offering our Wacom Cloud service, which enables people to quickly share ideas jotted down with digital pens.

The evolution of computers and network infrastructure
has accelerated the digitization of documents (paperless
operations) in numerous fields. Digitization makes pos-
sible a wide range of applications, including corporate
document management, product demonstration and
credit card signing in stores, contract signing at banks,
and electronic chart notation in clinics and hotel check-
in kiosks. High-level security is indispensable for the ap-
propriate management of digitized documents. Wacom’s
LCD signature tablets play a key role in connecting cus-
tomers and computer systems in different business situ-
ations. With the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics taking
place in 2020, demand from hotels is rising. As electronic
commerce spreads further and education infrastructure
goes digital, we believe there is huge potential in this
business..
By using our many years of accumulated experience in pen
tablet development to optimize our pen input and multi-touch
technologiest, we have been providing our OEM customers with
pen and multi-touch input components for many types of mobile
devices operating on Android and Windows.
Reflecting the increasing importance of the stylus as the
primary input interface to creatively and productively ma-
nipulate smartphones and tablets, Wacom is taking the
lead in collaborating with industry partners by providing
technology solutions consisting of a wide variety of pen
and touch expertise. Our Universal Pen Framework initia-
tive to promote wider digital pen interoperability is also
making a steady progress.
