Wacom moved its US office to Portland, Oregon, to be
closer to customers and to make working with creative
communities more convenient. The newly opened Wacom
Experience Center is available to customers, and through
collaborative events and user group activities, can help
deepen Wacom’s relationship with customers as well as
bring in new innovations.
Wacom’s unique EMR® digital pen sensor system was adopted by
GALAXY Note 5 as well as other OEM customer products. The Active ES
system, which integrates pen and touch controllers for superior simplicity,
was adopted by Toshiba, Lenovo, HP, Dell and Huawei. We are also work-
ing on a pen to accommodate both Wacom Active ES and Windows Pen
technologies.

Where are we now?
Making your ideas digital with the Bamboo Spark
Bringing in innovation, collaborating with
creative users
Wacom provides total pen solutions to accelerate
digital pen adoption in the market
In addition to promoting WILL (Wacom Ink Layer Language), the digital ink
technology that enables ink data to be shared easily in the cloud, in col-
laboration with partner companies across industries we have been promot-
ing the Digital Stationery Consortium to facilitate the adoption of digital ink.
Further, we have been working to increase the development of WILL-
enabled apps by hosting Wacom Inkathon events, in which software devel-
lopers around the globe can experience WILL.
Paving the way for the era of digital stationery
New products addressing increasingly
demanding creative needs
The work environment of creative professionals has been
constantly evolving: from 2D to 3D, and from HD to 4K.
In 2015 we launched two products that contributed to the
growth of Creative Business: the Cintiq 27QHD, with 27-inch
LCD and high resolution of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels, and the
Cintiq Companion (second generation).
In autumn 2015, Wacom launched the Bamboo Spark, Wacom’s first prod-
uct in the digital stationery category that bridges the worlds of analog
paper and digital ink. Through the digitization of handwritten notes jotted
down by a smart ballpoint pen on A5 paper, the notes can be shared and
edited in the cloud.
The Cintiq 27QHD and Cintiq Companion series
contributed to sales throughout the fiscal year ended
March 2016. Combined with the new Intuos launched
in autumn, Wacom’s Brand Business enjoyed solid
growth. The Bamboo Spark gained significant attention
as Wacom’s first product in the digital stationery category,
bringing ideas on paper to cloud. In Technology Solution
Business, the Active ES technology was adopted by a
number of tablet devices from different IT companies,
further adding to the momentum for digital pens.
