Average age 33.50 33.30
The average age at the Ubisoft Group is 33.5. The average age was
largely unchanged due to the combined effects of increasing staff
seniority and a signi cant rise in the number of hires over the year,
mainly in the younger age groups.
This average age is in line with the young age of the video game
industry as a whole and the fact that the skills needed to develop
games are often linked to the most innovative technologies.
All ages are represented in the Group’s staff, with 82.2% of employees
in the 20-39 age bracket.
4.2.1.4 Seniority up slightly
Average seniority within the Group was up slightly, reaching 5.28
years at the end of March 2016, compared with 5.16 years at the
end of March 2015.
To ensure that its staff always get the right support, Ubisoft gives
special consideration to employee wellness, with a bespoke human
resources policy and a friendly , collaborative work environment.
Talent retention programs are implemented each year, mostly in
the form of employee share ownership.

4.2.2 DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
The diverse range of professional pro les at Ubisoft is inherent to the
creativity and innovation the Company needs to stay at the forefront
of innovation and technology. The process of creating a video game
brings together teams with very different backgrounds and training to
produce the best game possible. The Group encourages an inclusive
work environment through cultural, gender and age diversity.
This helps teams to improve their understanding of consumers’
expectations and to respond to consumers’ needs throughout the
world. The diversity of pro les is a source of creativity, fostering an
outward-looking approach and encouraging personal development.
A Group-wide awareness-raising campaign on “unconscious bias”
has been launched, starting with an e-learning module on the subject.
Initiatives are being rolled out at the various Ubisoft sites, such
as the following three examples: the publication of “Employment
Equity” guidelines in Toronto, aimed at employing more people from
disadvantaged communities; employee engagement in Sweden, with
an inclusive approach to diversity; the support of the San Francisco
subsidiary for diversity and acceptance of LGBT communities (1), by
sponsoring the LGBT Film Festival and GaymerX.
4.2.2.1 Measures taken to encourage
gender equality
At the end of March 2016, the Group was composed of 20.2% women
and 79.8% men. This distribution, like that of the wider gaming
industry, re ects the production roles which tend to attract men
and account for 84.3% of the Ubisoft workforce (see 4.2.1.1).
