Glo bal diversificatio n is a vital c ompo nent o f the
Co mpany's strategic po sitio ning. This diversification is
unique in the athletic fo o twear and apparel retail industry
and provides many distinct advantages. Fo o t Lo cker, Inc.
has established a strong presence in several global markets
within the United States, Canada, Euro pe and Australia.
Its infrastructures within these reg io ns are sufficient to
suppo rt the Co mpany's exc iting new sto re gro wth plans fo r
the next several years. The Co mpany currently operates
620 Fo o t Lo cker and Champs Spo rts sto res outside the
United States, with 377 in Europe, 168 in Canada and 75
in Australia. Last year, approximately 19 percent o f the
Co mpany's sales were generated in internatio nal markets.

global diversificatio n can cushio n the adverse effec ts from
