Villa Hills, Kentuckian Sue Feamster knows a lot about fast breaks. She spearheaded
the establishment of a women’s athletics program at the University of Kentucky in
the mid-1970s and served as the school’s first womens varsity basketball coach.
But Sue hardly foresaw the fast break that came to her in the way of a recent
job offer. Nor did she imagine what a fast track she’d be on today, constantly
crisscrossing the country in her challenging new position. Sue is Vice President
of Advancement for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in
Cincinnati, Ohio, slated to open in late summer.
“We’re in the final stages of our $110 million capital campaign, and one of
the things I do is work on major prospects, she explains. “So we’re going from
New York to Chicago to Atlanta to Los Angeles…to wherever prospects take us.
Things were hectic for Sue when she moved to Cincinnati from Lexington,
Kentucky, where she had been an executive with a major fundraising firm.
Needing a local banking connection, she was referred to Huntingtons Private
Financial Group by a friend who was also a PFG client. The interface she formed
with Huntington was, initially at least, a highly mobile one.
“She found a home and wanted to get the financing taken care of quickly,
says Karen Hartig, Huntington Vice President and Relationship Manager. “She
was moving so fast and in so many directions, we had to work a lot by cell phone.
“They put it all together in just three days, Sue marvels. “They assembled a
great package for my new home, a refinancing of some rental property that I have
and some investments as well.
Making financial life easier for customers is what PFG is all about, and Sue’s
situation exemplifies this.“From the very beginning they made it extremely easy,
she affirms. “It was just like banks used to be.
Along with ease, Sue appreciates the speed of Huntingtons service: “I can
get answers immediately, and for me thats important because I don’t have time
to go through layers of people and departments.
PFG represents the local bank with national resources “to the fullest,
according to Karen, who states proudly: “We’re empowered to make decisions
and get approvals right here – to really get it done for the client.
Sue Feamster: finding banking
a moving experience.
