Total loans and advances at amortised cost remained broadly stable at £11.6bn (2014: £11.7bn) with growth limited to high quality assets. The total
collateral increased by 7% to £27.1bn.
The UK CRE businesses operate to specific lending criteria and the portfolio of assets is continually monitored through a range of mandates and
limits. The improvement in the past due coverage ratio in 2015 was driven by the sale of three unimpaired real estate loans.
