(United States), the consolidated balance sheets of Whirlpool Corporation as of December 31, 2009 and
2008, and the related consolidated statements of income, changes in stockholders’ equity (not presented
separately here) and cash flows for each of the three years in the period ended December 31, 2009 and in
our report dated February 17, 2010, we expressed an unqualified opinion on those consolidated financial
statements. In our opinion, the information set forth in the accompanying financial statements (presented
on pages 97 through 99) is fairly stated, in all material respects from which it has been derived.
We also have audited, in accordance with the standards of the Public Company Accounting Oversight
Board (United States), Whirlpool Corporation’s internal control over financial reporting as of December 31,
2009, based on criteria established in Internal Control—Integrated Framework issued by the Committee of
Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission and our report dated February 17, 2010 expressed
an unqualified opinion thereon.
