USA Education, Inc. common shares trade on the New York
Stock Exchange under the symbol SLM. The following table
sets forth the high and low sales prices for the Company’s
common stock for each full quarterly period in the two most

The Company paid regular quarterly dividends of $.15 per
share on the common stock in each of the first three quarters
of 1999, $.16 per share for the fourth quarter of 1999 and the
first three quarters of 2000, and $.175 per share for the fourth
quarter of 2000 and the first quarter of 2001.
The annual meeting of shareholders will be held Thursday,
May 10, 2001, at 10 a.m. CST, at the USA Education, Inc.
office, 11100 USA Parkway, Fishers, IN 46038.
The Company’s 2000 Form 10-K, as filed with the
Securities and Exchange Commission, has been mailed to
shareholders of record as of March 12, 2001, together with
