Hubert H. Humphrey, III
Skip Humphrey, JD, serves on the Board Governance Committee, the AARP Insurance Trust, and
the National Nominating Committee. He is senior vice president of Tunhiem Partners and a senior
fellow in the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health. Previously, he served as AARP
Minnesota State President. He is a board member of Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights;
Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota; and the Joint Degree Program Advisory of the University of
Minnesota Law School.
Richard Johnson
Richard Johnson serves on the AARP Insurance Trust and the Board Member Value/Social Impact
Committee. He is also co-chair of AARP’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Committee. Active with AARP
for nearly 20 years, he was AARPsrst Delaware State President. He retired from the Monsanto
Company as district sales manager and director of national accounts. To promote protection of
older consumers, he served on the Delaware Attorney Generals Senior Victims Task Force, the Adult
Protective Services Advisory Council, and the Medicare Fraud Patrol Steering Committee.
Jacob Lozada
Jacob Lozada, PhD, serves on the Board Member Value/Social Impact Committee and AARP’s
National Policy Council. Dr. Lozada, a retired consultant under JLozada Consulting, LLC, was
previously a diversity advisor for the U.S. Ofce of Personnel Management; an assistant secretary
in the Department of Veterans Affairs; a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, and a U.S. Army
colonel. He is a founder of the University of Puerto Rico’s Association of Alumni and Friends and a
board member of the VA National Medical Music Group.
Mara Mayor
Mara Mayor, PhD, serves on the Board Audit and Finance and Member Value/Social Impact
Committees. As an educator, Dr. Mayor focused on extending learning opportunities in formal
and informal settings. She was director of The Smithsonian Associates; director of education at
the Smithsonian’s National Zoological Park; and director of The Annenberg/CPB Project at the
Corporation for Public Broadcasting. She helped strategically position the Annenberg/CPB Project
in the world of education and philanthropy, and the Project garnered an Emmy and a Peabody
Award for its programs.
Maeona Mendelson
Mae Mendelson, PhD, chairs AARP’s National Nominating Committee and is a member of the National
Policy Council Nominating Committee. She also serves on the Board Member Value/Social Impact
Committee and the AARP Global Network board. Previously, she was AARP Hawaii State President.
Dr. Mendelson is professor in residence for Intergenerational Studies at Honolulu’s Chaminade
University, and president and founder of the intergenerational Travel & Learn organization. Dr.
Mendelson is also a member of the International Advisory Committee for World Congress of Youth.
