AARP The Magazine made headlines nationwide with the warm, bold pose of actress of Jamie Lee Curtis
on the May/June issue. Other covers featured Caroline Kennedy, actors Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, and
Sidney Poitier, and NBC News anchor Brian Williams.
AARP Segunda Juventud, published quarterly in Spanish and English, won the Society of National
Publications’ 2008 EXCEL award for overall excellence among large-circulation magazines.
AARP’s first syndicated television shows began airing nationwide in April. “My Generation,” a magazine-
format lifestyle program, and “Inside E Street,” which delved into hot consumer topics, were carried by
Retirement Living TV. They also streamed in high-def on AARP.org.
Author Abigail Thomas helped AARP members craft the stories of their lives through her book, Thinking
About Memoir. AARP Books/Sterling also published the AARP Crash Course in Finding the Work You
Love: The Essential Guide to Reinventing Your Life by Samuel Greengard, and three new puzzle books.
