November30,2006andanticipatepayingtheremainingesti-
matedtotalcostsasfollows:$2.65billion,$2.51billion,$2.43
billion,$1.69billionand$617millioninfiscal2007,2008,2009,
2010and2011,respectively.
OperatingLeases
Rentexpenseunderouroperatingleases,primarilyforoffice
andwarehousespace,was$47millioninfiscal2006and
$50millionineachoffiscal2005and2004.AtNovember30,
2006,minimumannualrentalsforouroperatingleases,with
initialorremainingtermsinexcessofoneyear,wereasfollows
(inmillions):$40,$36,$34,$31,$29and$180infiscal2007
through2011andthereafter,respectively.
PortFacilitiesandOther
AtNovember30,2006,wehadcommitmentsthrough
2052,withinitialorremainingtermsinexcessofoneyear,to
payminimumamountsforourannualusageofportfacilities
andothercontractualcommitmentsasfollows(inmillions):
$107,$97,$83,$74,$61and$217infiscal2007through
2011andthereafter,respectively.

Litigation
OnSeptember21,2006,aclassactioncomplaintwasfiled
onbehalfofapurportedclassofpastpassengersagainst
HollandAmericaLine(“HAL”)intheU.S.Thecomplaint
allegesthatHAL(a)failedtodisclosethatshoreexcursion
vendorspaidHALtopromotetheirservicesasrequiredbyan
Alaskastatute,and(b)collectedandretainedpaymentfrom
passengersforPassengerVesselServiceAct(“PSVA”)viola-
tionsincertaininstanceswhenHALdidnotactuallyincurthe
fines.Thecomplaintseeks(i)certificationasaclassaction,
(ii)statutorydamagesunderAlaska’sconsumerprotection
statutes,(iii)damagesforeachPSVAfinecollectedandaddi-
tionaldamagesforeachPSVAfinecollectedwherenofine
wasimposed,(iv)injunctivereliefand(v)attorneys’fees,
costsandinterest.Theultimateoutcomeofthisactioncannot
bedeterminedatthistime.However,webelievethatwehave
meritoriousdefensestotheseclaimsandintendtovigorously
defendthismatter.
InJanuary2006,alawsuitwasfiledagainstCarnival
Corporationanditssubsidiariesandaffiliates,andothernon-
affiliatedcruiselinesinNewYorkonbehalfofapurported
classofownersofintellectualpropertyrightstomusicalplays
andotherworksperformedintheU.S.Theplaintiffsclaim
infringementofcopyrightstoBroadway,offBroadwayandother
plays.Thesuitseekspaymentof(i)damages,(ii)disgorgement
ofallegedprofitsand(iii)aninjunctionagainstfutureinfringe-
ment.Intheeventthatanawardisgiveninfavoroftheplain-
tiffs,theamountofdamages,ifany,whichCarnivalCorporation
anditssubsidiariesandaffiliateswouldhavetopayisnot
currentlydeterminable.Theultimateoutcomeofthismatter
cannotbedeterminedatthistime.However,weintendto
vigorouslydefendthismatter.
Inthenormalcourseofourbusiness,variousotherclaims
andlawsuitshavebeenfiledorarependingagainstus.Most
oftheseclaimsandlawsuitsarecoveredbyinsuranceand,
accordingly,themaximumamountofourliability,netofany
insurancerecoverables,istypicallylimitedtoourself-insurance
retentionlevels.However,theultimateoutcomeofthese
claimsandlawsuitswhicharenotcoveredbyinsurance
cannotbedeterminedatthistime.
ContingentObligations
AtNovember30,2006,CarnivalCorporationhadcontingent
obligationstotalingapproximately$1.07billiontoparticipants
inleaseoutandleasebacktypetransactionsforthreeofits
ships.Attheinceptionoftheleases,theentireamountofthe
contingentobligationswaspaidbyCarnivalCorporationto
majorfinancialinstitutionstoenablethemtodirectlypaythese
obligations.Accordingly,theseobligationswereconsidered
extinguished,andneitherthefundsnorthecontingentobliga-
tionshavebeenincludedonourbalancesheets.Carnival
Corporationwouldonlyberequiredtomakeanypayments
underthesecontingentobligationsintheremoteeventof
nonperformancebythesefinancialinstitutions,allofwhich
havelong-termcreditratingsofAAorhigher.Inaddition,
CarnivalCorporationobtainedadirectguaranteefromAAor
higherratedfinancialinstitutionsfor$284millionoftheabove
notedcontingentobligations,therebyfurtherreducingthe
alreadyremoteexposuretothisportionofthecontingent
obligations.Incertaincases,ifthecreditratingsofthemajor
financialinstitutionswhoaredirectlypayingthecontingent
