Suzuki Motor Corporation
We have examined the accompanying consolidated balance sheets of Suzuki Motor Corporation and
consolidated subsidiaries as of March 31, 2002 and 2001, the related consolidated statements of income, retained
earnings and cash flows for the years then ended, all expressed in Japanese yen. Our examinations were made in
accordance with generally accepted auditing standards in Japan and, accordingly, included such tests of the
accounting records and such other auditing procedures as we considered necessary in the circumstances.
In our opinion, based upon our examinations and the reports of other auditors, the aforementioned consolidated
financial statements, expressed in yen, present fairly the financial position of Suzuki Motor Corporation and
consolidated subsidiaries as of March 31, 2002 and 2001, the results of their operations and their cash flows for the
years then ended, in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles in Japan applied on a consistent
basis during the periods.
The accompanying consolidated financial statements as of and for the year ended March 31, 2002 have been
translated into United States dollars solely for the convenience of readers. We have reviewed the translation and,
in our opinion, the consolidated financial statements expressed in Japanese yen have been properly translated into
United States dollars on the basis set forth in Note 1. to the consolidated financial statements.
