2015 POLARIS INDUSTRIES INC. ANNUAL REPORT 17
The past few years have been the strongest for our Parts, Garments and Accessories
(PG&A) business. We achieved an 18percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) the
past five years, doubling our CAGR from the previous five-year period. Here’s a look
at our key strategies to continue driving growth and profitability:
>> Leverage potential of our
aftermarketbrands
We added to our aftermarket brand portfolio
in2015 by acquiring 509, a leader in technical
snowmobile gear and award-winning films.
Like our other premium aftermarket brands—
Klim, Kolpin and ProArmor—509 provides
access to new channels and consumers, as
well as incremental expertise and capabilities
that benefit the entire PG&A business.
>> Transform the sales and retail experience
With our SMART (Stocking, Merchandising
and Retail Transformation) model, our goal is
to ensure we have the right product in the right
place at the right time. This Lean “pull-based”
model leverages sales and inventory data to
drive stocking recommendations, and aligns
marketing and merchandising programs
toaccelerate consumer demand. Additional
benefits include a more predictable and
ecient supply chain. After a successful
pilot in2015, we expect to expand SMART
significantly in2016.
>> Accelerate Polaris Engineered
productinnovation
We’re building on Polaris’ legacy of
innovation by developing a broader portfolio
of accessories that are engineered to work
seamlessly with our vehicles and dramatically
enhance the experience of our riders. We
extended this approach in2015 to add garage
and storage solutions—including tool chests,
hoists and cleaning products—that make
iteasier for riders to maintain their vehicles.
Our riders are also looking for better and
more-integrated technology solutions.
Our new RZR speakers by MBQuart oer
exceptional audio and ease of installation.
Our Total-Vision™ DVR Camera Mirror
features a rear backup camera for added
safety and a front camera that lets riders
record and share their o-road adventures.
