2015 POLARIS INDUSTRIES INC. ANNUAL REPORT 11
>> Our first entry into the
rec utility SxS category
includes the Polaris
GENERAL 1000 EPS Deluxe
>> The RANGER XP 900EPS
Northstar Edition, one of four
new packages with factory-
installed accessories
>> Our single-seat, ride-in
ORV category includes
four models, such as this
Polaris ACE 900SP, that
are bringing us incremental
new customers
>> Bring our best to another
industrycategory
We stayed true to our legacy of listening
to our consumers and bringing a product
to market that exceeds their expectations
with the launch of the side-by-side (SxS)
Polaris GENERAL. It’s a cross between a
RZR and aRANGER, the best-selling side-
by-sides in the industry. The GENERAL
can tackle the trails, as well as tough jobs.
Itwasdesigned for multi-acre homeowners,
who told us they wanted a single vehicle
purpose built for both work and play. Initial
consumer interest has been extremely high
in this 30,000-plus-unit North American
marketcategory.
>> Gain market share against
unprecedented competition
Despite a significant increase in new
competitor products in2015, we gained
market share for the ninth consecutive year.
We continue to have the biggest ORV product
portfolio, with vehicles targeted to specific
customer needs, keeping us the go-to brand
for both work and recreation customers.
>> Increase customers new to the
ORVmarket
Our customized package vehicles—featuring
unique factory-installed accessories to meet
specific consumer needs—are bringing
us additional new customers. Owners like
that they don’t have to choose and install
the accessories they need for hunting or
mud riding. We introduced the concept with
five packages in2014 and added four more
in2015: acamouflage version of our original
RANGER hunting package, a RANGER
trail edition ideal for ranchers, a RZR rock
crawler and apremium RZR package with
Foxshocks.
Easy-riding Polaris ACE was a contributor
in attracting customers who’ve never owned
an ORV. Its patented design is especially
attractive to women and men in their 50s,
many of whom were dirt bike riders, but
want a more comfortable and confident ride
as they get older.
